At Penbroath Retreats, we want every guest to feel comfortable and confident before booking. As our cottages are traditional and full of character, they won’t suit everyone, so we’ve put together this guide to help you decide if Penbroath is right for you.

Getting here
Parking is located close to the cottages within our private courtyard. The setting is rural and relaxed, with a mix of paved and natural surfaces typical of a countryside property.
The cottages
Our cottages are converted farm buildings, each with their own unique layout and features.
- There are steps and some level changes throughout
- Doorways in places may be lower than standard, particularly in The Hayloft
- Layouts vary between cottages, so we’re always happy to explain in more detail
Bathrooms
- Bathrooms are modern and well-equipped
- Walk-in showers are available, although access may involve a small step depending on the cottage
Outdoor spaces
Each cottage has its own private outdoor area:
- Enclosed gardens provide a safe and secure space
- Hot tubs are accessed via steps
- Outdoor surfaces may be uneven in keeping with the setting
Swimming pool
Our indoor swimming pool is a shared space for guests:
- Accessed via steps with a handrail
- Approximate depth of 1.2m throughout
- Surrounding flooring is natural stone, which may become slippery when wet
A quieter setting
Penbroath is set within a peaceful rural location, adjoining open farmland.
- Minimal traffic noise
- Dark skies at night
- A calm, low-stimulation environment that many guests find particularly relaxing
Dogs welcome
We’re a dog-friendly retreat and aim to make stays as easy as possible for guests bringing their pets:
