Booking terms and conditions

At least one member of the booking party (the guest completing the booking form) must be over the age of 18.

The number of guests and ONLY those named on the booking form are entitled to stay within the booked property.

If it is discovered that additional people are utilising the property, this will be considered a breach of contract and the guest and their party will be asked to leave immediately without any refund. Furthermore, sub letting or assignation of the let is prohibited.

Facilities at Penbroath Retreats are for guests only.

Employees and representatives of Penbroath Retreats shall not be liable to guests or your party for loss or damage to property howsoever arising. You must take all necessary steps to protect and safeguard your personal property and possesions.

We encourage our guests to lock their property and leave their key in the wall mounted keysafe when leaving on a day out. This helps to prevent lost keys. Replacement keys are chargeable.

You are responsible for the property during your stay and are expected to take all reasonable care of furniture, fixtures, fittings and all other items/effects, within or outside the property.

You must leave the property in the same state of repair, and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as presented to you at the commencement of your stay.

You must not use the property for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral activities or undertake acts that may be a nuisance or annoyance to both the owner or neighbouring guest properties.

Smoking is NOT allowed inside any of the cottages. Candles and the charging of electric bikes are not permitted in the cottages.

You are legally bound to reimburse Penbroath Retreats for replacement, repair or additional cleaning costs incurred during your stay.. We shall be allowed the right of entry to each property at a reasonable time for the purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or essential maintenance.

Every effort will be made to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay with us.

However, if you have any concerns or cause for complaint, we would encourage you to contact us immediately to give us the opportunity to reach a satisfactory resolution.

We value our guests, and want you to enjoy your stay and hopefully to return in the future.

YOUR DATA

We treat any data collected during the course of making enquiries and bookings in strict confidence. Your data will never be traded or sold to a third party.

DOG FRIENDLY

You are more than welcome to bring ONE well-behaved dog during your stay with us, a second dog is subject to prior arrangement.

All pets must be fully house trained, well behaved and both the number and size of pet must not exceed that agreed at the time of booking, otherwise a breach of contract will be deemed to have taken place.

Guest will be liable for ALL damage caused to the property by their dog or any dog belonging to the booking group.

A charge will be made for any additional cleaning deemed necessary at the end of your stay.

The property owner cannot be held responsible for any accident or injury to a dog during their stay with us. It is the guests responsibility to ensure their dog is under control and safe at all times, both inside and outside the property.

We must also ask that you DO NOT leave your dog alone within the property while you go out or allow it to be noisy or an annoyance to other guests.

We make a small charge to accomadate a dog, as we often find their stay does lead to additional cleaning charges.

When a dog is added to a booking, we supply a dog welcome basket upon arrival, which includes treats, a toy, food/water bowls/splash mat and a throw. We would request that the throw is used on the property furniture. We wash throws after each stay.  Doing this helps to protect furniture and future guests who may be allergic to animal fur. A dog wash station situated next to The Laundry.

A poo bag dispenser is situated at the entrance of each property. Please ensure all dog waste is collected and deposited in the Waste Recycling building opposite the parking area. 

Please do not allow dogs out on their own within the grounds. Dogs must be kept on a lead in the communal areas of Penbroath Retreats at all times.

WOOD BURNING STOVES

The Hay Loft and The Corner Cottage have wood burning stoves.  An initial supply of logs will be left in your cottage upon arrival along with firelighters, kindling and matches etc.  We have provided a helpful guide for those unfamiliar with using open fires or log burners within the property welcome guide. Waste ash can be placed in the ash bin provided and taken to the Waste Recycling building for disposal

Further supplies of wood/logs/kindling can be obtained from the agricultural shop immediately next door to Penbroath Retreats.

BARBEQUES

Each property is equipped with an outdoor Weber kettle barbeque.

Briquettes and lighting aids are not supplied but cn be obtained locally.

Barbeque cleaning brushes are provided to clean the inside of the barbeque after use. A large ash bin is provided in the Waste Recycling building opposite the parking area.

ELECTRICITY & HEATING

Electricity and heating are included within the rental costs.

TOILETS AND SINKS

Each of our properties is served by a private wastewater bio-treatment plant. We encourage you to NOT flush sanitary items, wipes, etc.  down the toilet of the property.In the kitchen areas we encourage you to collect any excess food waste, grease or fat produced from cooking and dispose this in the general waste bin.

The disposal of these items down our toilets and sink pipework can cause significant problems for the treatment plants smooth operation.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS/REQUESTS

‘Z’/camp beds, travel cots, highchairs and stair gates are available by prior arrangement. Please note, we do not supply cot bedding, ONLY the cot mattress.  

RETURN OF BREAKAGE DEPOSIT

Each booking requires a £200 breakages deposit. This breakage deposit, minus any deductions for damage/breakages found at departure, will be returned to you within 1 week of your departure date.

ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS

We accept payments via either bank transfer, credit or debit cards. We do NOT accept American Express.
